Scottsdale, AZ, December 17, 2012 How to be a Christmas Super Hero rule number one… Find a super high quality name brand product with a large retail value for a huge discount and then you can take full credit for the beautiful gift and voila… A Christmas Super Hero is born.
However, there are many possible scenarios where you might find yourself in the Christmas “Dog House” instead of super hero status. For example, when you find that very expensive designer cashmere sweater on the closeout rack with an additional 50% off tag, but you find there is the tiniest of red dots on the sleeve (do you remember the Seinfeld episode?). Yeah, try giving the gift receipt with that one. Or another common Christmas hero wannabe move is buying the designer home accessory on the closeout sale rack from Neiman Marcus, even having them wrap the gift in classic silver and gold Neiman trim to further impress the giftee. All this effort only to witness the poorly masked horror on the face of your in-laws when they unwrap the hideous green and purple monstrosity that you fell in love with because of the designer name and the deeply discounted price. Now, not only are you not a hero, but now you are the guy their daughter should have never married. It is severe perhaps, but it was green and purple for crying out loud. No matter what designer’s name was on the label it was a train wreck waiting to be unwrapped.
Once in while a deal comes along that allows you to renew the faith of your in-laws, friends and families in you. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes of the burned green and purple heap you gave last Christmas, you too can become a Christmas Super Hero. The deal that is being suggested here is one of those “Hero” deals. It may or may not be for you but it is certainly worthy of the title.
These deals sometime come about at somebody’s loss, and this is no exception. A very high end Italian styled casino in Las Vegas had a plan to remodel their expensive suites, and their plans fell through at the last minute for some unknown reason. However, the casino had ordered and received most of the materials to do the remodel and they decided to sell the unused (very expensive) materials rather than completely scrap them. A deal is born. Parts of this extraordinary remodel were beautifully handmade custom Contessa wall mirrors made by the famous Italian company Donghia, in Italy. These mirrors are finished with an antiquing process, beveled, frameless and have small citrine florettes to accent each corner. Made by Donghia, these mirrors have a retail price of $6500 each and a wholesale price tag of more than half that. This company bought them and are blowing them out at $499 on both Amazon and eBay and they include free shipping. Last checked they had several of these left but they are most likely going fast. Take a look and try your luck at Christmas Super Hero. Happy Holidays!
