Coach Shawn has announced he now offers leadership coaching using the Lego® Serious Play method, giving executives an innovative, creative, and fun way to hone their leadership skills.

With its new Lego® Serious Play coaching service, Coach Shawn helps leaders develop their critical thinking while strengthening their problem-solving and creative skills. After each session, clients are guided to build a specialized set of Lego® bricks, which will be provided by Coach Shawn beforehand, to reflect on any insights they learned during the coaching. The goal is for clients to discover their personal leadership style and find new, creative ways of managing their teams.

Coach Shawn explains that the Lego® Serious Play method is a fun way to enhance traditional leadership coaching. Using a hands-on and multisensory approach, Coach Shawn now helps clients explore complex topics by allowing them to tap into their more playful selves. He highlights that engaging the hands while learning new topics helps individuals use both sides of their brains so that they can understand topics better.

The Lego® bricks also help clients examine alternatives to specific situations and experiment with different solutions. These lessons can be used in real-life leadership settings, and when complemented with traditional coaching, can encourage innovative and unconventional thinking.

While individual Lego® Serious Play sessions can be requested, Coach Shawn recommends leaders attend his six-month “Prototype Your Leadership with Lego® Serious Play” program which features a comprehensive curriculum to guide executives to become effective managers and leaders.

The program contains two modules: Self-Discovery, which supports clients to become aware of their current leadership skills and personal values, and Ideal Leader, which guides clients to reach their leadership potential.

Among the focus areas are communication, either one-on-one or in a group, delegation and empowerment, prioritization of multiple requests, collaboration with other leaders, and coaching team members, among others.

Coach Shawn has always believed that work should be fun. Even before he began coaching, he was constantly finding ways to bring creativity into his organization and encouraging others to follow suit.

Coach Shawn says, “Each time we meet you will bring a current topic and we will examine it through the lenses of your overall leadership growth plan. Through the combination of Lego® Serious Play and coaching conversation, you will leave with tangible action and growth opportunities.”
