When she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2013, Marissa applied her talents in developing in building and improving business operations to the task of overcoming this very serious personal health challenge. She worked closely with oncologists, managing her treatment with the same continuous-improvement approach she has taken in her work in the financial field. Within a few months, surgeons were unable to find evidence of cancerous cells in her body – in fact, the doctors described their surprise as unprecedented, with no clear medical explanation. Mrs. Walz, however, understands the source of her strength in beating cancer. She credits her friends, family, and her faith as instrumental in the battle against this life-threatening disease. “I always had the support of the people around me, which helped me in ways I cannot begin to describe,” says Mrs. Walz. “Without their support and the expert care I received from my doctors, I could not have achieved this incredible health outcome.” To learn more about Marissa’s story, visit https://angel.co/marissa-walz.
