Music May Have Impacts on Athletic Performance

(Newswire.net — October 23, 2018) Orlando, FL — Scientists have long been conducting studies to investigate the techniques to improve the performance of athletes. In a research, it has been found that music may help.

Paul Elvers of Goldsmiths University of London and the University of Hamburg and Jochen Steffens of Technische Universität Berlin conducted a study.

It involved 150 participants within the age bracket of 18 and 35. The subjects were randomly divided into three groups.

The first listened to a motivational playlist of their choice, the second listened to one chosen by the researchers, and the third skipped listening to any music at all. They then took a basketball shot and filled out a questionnaire.

This questionnaire enables them to assess their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Researchers found that those who listened to motivational music did not shoot any better. They also did not report feeling any better about themselves.

They suggest that there needs to be congruency between what the music expresses and what the listener feels for the music to enhance people’s self-esteem.

More studies are still underway to learn about how the performance of athletes can be enhanced. There are natural remedies believed to be extremely beneficial for athletic performance.

In some research studies, L-Carnitine was able to demonstrate its ability to decrease the respiratory quotient (RQ) in athletes.

It is worth mentioning that during a strenuous physical exercise, the body often needs huge amounts of fatty acids and glucose to manufacture energy.

A reduced RQ, which is achieved through L-Carnitine use, can lead to increased fatty acid burning and even less utilization of glucose.

Scientists suggest that its glucose-sparing effect aids in delaying the onset of exhaustion, and may even improve performances.

Through the use of L-Carnitine, there is an enhanced VO2 Max that then leads to improve performance in athletes. It is worth mentioning the VO2 Max pertains to a measure of maximal aerobic capacity.

Dr. William Kraemer, from the Ball State Human Performance Laboratory, presented the results of a study on muscle soreness in “weekend warrior” athletes.

It revealed that L-Carnitine administered before high intensity exercise was able to assist in muscle recovery. Further, it reduced muscle soreness following an exercise.

This natural ingredient has also long been popularized by its vital involvement in energy metabolism. This is another reason why it could be extremely useful to athletes.

To experience its benefits, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty L-Carnitine. This formula is widely known for its high potency, and it is even free from contaminants and nasty ingredients.
