(Newswire.net — June 30, 2020) Orlando, FL — Scientists have long been stressing the importance of following a healthy diet. This is due to the fact that healthy food preferences significantly aid in warding off diseases.
A study was published in the American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology.
In this study, researchers found that increased levels of trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) may decrease symptoms of hypertension-related heart disease. It is worth mentioning that TMAO is a compound associated with the intake of seafood, fish, and a Vegetarian diet.
Even low-dose treatment of TMAO has been found to lessen heart thickening or cardiac fibrosis as well as markers of heart failure in an animal model of hypertension.
This interesting study was carried out by the researchers from the Medical University of Warsaw in Poland and the Polish Academy of Sciences.
“It seems that a fish-rich and vegetarian diet, which is beneficial or at least neutral for cardiovascular risk, is associated with a significantly higher plasma TMAO than red meat- and egg-rich diets, which are considered to increase the cardiovascular risk,” says the researchers.
While more research studies are still underway to learn more about the beneficial effects of health foods on the heart, it is worth noting that having the right diet is vital. It could work wonders in warding off a range of diseases and disorders.
It is also worth noting that some natural remedies like turmeric have been scientifically found to aid in fighting heart disease. This ancient, medicinal spice contains a phytochemical called curcumin, which studies have found to possess various therapeutic ingredients.
According to Dr. Ronald Cotterel, a Family Medicine doctor at the Sutter Medical Group, turmeric can’t necessarily prevent heart disease.
“However, the spice could theoretically help prevent heart attacks,” he adds.
In many research studies, curcumin has been found to have genoprotective, antifungal, adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticarcinogenic, antiproliferative, antiviral, renoprotective, insulin-sensitizing, androgenic, antifibrotic, neurorestorative, and metal-chelating properties.
It also contains anticoagulant, antiseptic, anti-platelet, antioxidant, anti-amyloidogenic, anti-cytotoxic, antibiotic, antimicrobial, anti-purulent, immunomodulating, and anticatabolic agents.
Curcumin has an antiplatelet agent that could delay blood clotting as effectively as certain medications do. These are medications specifically formulated to prevent heart attacks.
Clinical research has even shown that intake of 4 grams of curcumin 3 days before surgery and 5 days post-surgery may reduce the risk of myocardial infarction by 56 percent than the placebo.
More research studies are still being carried out to explore more of the therapeutic goodness of curcumin. However, it is hard to deny that its use is widespread now.
To experience its healing effects, it is wise to consider the use of Divine Bounty Curcumin (http://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-BioPerine-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00VSVKJ8I).
