(Newswire.net — July 13, 2020) Winnetka, IL — There are millions of people nowadays who spend most of their time of social media sites like Facebook. This is why many researchers are looking into the various aspects of Facebook addiction, and the factors that potentially influence it.

A study was published in the Psychiatric Research journal.

In this study, it has been found that during stressful times people turn to social media like Facebook for comfort. Further, failure in getting any offline support triggers stressed FB users to develop a pathological dependence on the social networking site — the so-called Facebook addiction.

This research was carried out by a team of the Mental Health Research and Treatment Center at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB), headed by Dr. Julia Brailovskaia.

In the study, the investigators assessed the results on an online survey. This survey involved 309 Facebook users between the ages of 18 and 56.

The study findings have demonstrated that there is a link between daily stress severity, Facebook engagement intensity, and the tendency to develop a pathological addiction to the social networking site.

Experts have long been recommending to resort to the measures that could be helpful in reducing levels of stress. Stress, especially when it gets chronic, could potentially trigger the onset of certain diseases and disorders.

This is why more and more researchers are investigating into the best possible ways to help reduce the prevalence and severity of stress. In some studies, it has actually been found that there are quite a number of ways to aid in reducing stress levels.

Scientists have been investigating the therapeutic benefits of natural remedies like ashwagandha when it comes to fighting stress. This medicinal herb has been found to aid in boosting the adrenals.

According to experts, this is vital since the adrenal glands and stress are found to be inextricably connected. The adrenal glands actually produce the stress hormone called cortisol, which is quicker to release than the more physically noticeable stress hormones like adrenaline.

Experts have long been warning against the constant release of cortisol as it can wreak havoc on health. Ashwagandha has been found to boost the adrenals through its ability to support normal HPA Axis function.

This means that it aids in the effective communication of the hypothalamic, pituitary, and adrenal glands.

While ashwagandha is known for its stress-fighting benefits, its use is actually linked with other healing effects.  It can be obtained through the use of supplements like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha (www.amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
