(Newswire.net — December 29, 2021) Winnetka, IL — Today, researchers are increasingly studying some ways to reduce the rates of hypertension. It is worth noting that making dietary improvements is one of the keys to warding off this condition.
A study was carried out by Warwick Medical School researchers.
In this study, it has been found that consumption of a plant-based diet reduces blood pressure levels even if small amounts of meat and dairy are consumed too.
The findings of this study were published in the Journal of Hypertension.
The investigators argued that any effort taken to increase plant-based foods in your diet and limit animal products is likely to produce positive effects on blood pressure. It may also work wonders in lessening the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and cardiovascular disease.
This systemic review of previous research from controlled clinical trials compared seven plant-based diets to a standardized control diet. The investigators also looked into their impact on individuals’ blood pressure. It is worth noting that several of these diets included animal products in small amounts.
Worldwide, hypertension is the top risk factor globally for heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular diseases. Experts have time and again said that a decrease in blood pressure has significant health benefits both for individuals and for populations.
It is important to be warned that unhealthy diets account for more deaths and disabilities on a global scale than tobacco use, high alcohol intake, drug use, and unsafe sex combined.
According to previous research, say that plant-based diets have a strong potential to avert up to 1.7, 1.8, 2.5, and 4.9 million deaths worldwide respectively every year. Plant-based diets are abundant in whole grains, vegetables, nuts and seeds, and fruit.
“A systematic review and meta-analysis of these studies showed that most of these diets lowered blood pressure. The DASH diet had the largest effect reducing blood pressure by 5.53/3.79 mmHg compared to a control diet, and by 8.74/6.05 mmHg when compared to a ‘usual’ diet,” said Lead author Joshua Gibbs, a student in the University of Warwick School of Life Sciences.
The number of studies looking into some remedies to manage blood pressure levels continues to increase. There are also studies highlighting the effects of using medicinal herbs like ashwagandha, which is loaded with therapeutic ingredients.
NutraHerbals Ashwagandha is a powerful source of this remedy due to its high potency and purity. More and more health-conscious consumers resort to its use for preventive health purposes.
