(Newswire.net — December 17, 2021) Orlando, FL — Today, more and more researchers are investigating highly prevalent conditions like diabetes and heart disease. Interestingly, a study suggests these two diseases may have a link.
This research was published in JAMA Cardiology.
In this study, researchers reveal the powerful association between diabetes and premature coronary heart disease in women.
More particularly, they found an association between a new biomarker of insulin resistance and a 600 percent increase in the risk of premature coronary heart disease.
It is worth noting that deaths linked with heart disease have dropped among older individuals. However, in younger people, studies found that death rates have remained stagnant or increased slightly.
This study involved an analysis of over 50 risk factors in 28,024 women who took part in the decades-long Women’s Health Study. It is worth noting that women below 55 years of age with type 2 diabetes had a greater risk of CHD by ten times over the next two decades.
Further, the investigators have found that lipoprotein insulin resistance (LPIR) proved to be a strong, predictive biomarker.
“We’re going to see, unfortunately, younger and younger people having heart attacks,” said corresponding author Samia Mora, MD, MHS.
Mora is from Brigham’s Center for Lipid Metabolomics in the Division of Preventive Medicine and an associate professor at Harvard Medical School.
“When a younger individual has a cardiovascular event, it will affect their quality of life going forward, their productivity, and their contribution to society,” she added.
According to Sagar Dugani, prevention is better than cure, and many risk factors for heart disease are preventable. This study shows the impact that lifestyle has on heart health in women of all ages, and younger women in particular.
Dugani is a hospital internal medicine practitioner at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Dugani is the co-first author of the study.
Diabetes and heart disease are undeniably common conditions. This is why more and more experts are investigating the impacts of taking some measures that could be helpful in increasing protection against these diseases.
There are all-natural remedies like the use of L-Carnitine experts are strongly recommending. It is worth noting that this remedy is backed by scientific studies showing that it has therapeutic properties.
Some studies even suggest it is particularly beneficial for heart health. It may be obtained through the use of certain formulas, such as Divine Bounty L-Carnitine. This formula is gaining increasing popularity in the global market today. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XF7K9MM).
