(Newswire.net — October 12, 2022) Ste 177 Winnetka, IL, IL — Around the world, more and more women are suffering from conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It is worth mentioning that this hormonal health issue may be potentially prevented by making dietary and lifestyle modifications.

Scientists warn that among reproductive-age women,  polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as well as being overweight and obese are independently associated with asthma.

This new preliminary research from Australia was presented at ENDO 2016, the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society, in Boston.

“A greater proportion of women with polycystic ovary syndrome report asthma, and the results of this study suggest that asthma is associated with PCOS and excess weight,” said lead author Anju Elizabeth Joham, MBBS, FRACP.

Joham is an endocrinologist and postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

“These findings highlight that polycystic ovary syndrome is a complex disorder that includes significant inflammatory underpinnings. These results also raise awareness of the need to consider higher risks in other health areas in this condition,” Joham added.

It is worth noting that PCOS is actually a common condition among women of childbearing age. However, there hasn’t been any study linking asthma with PCOS and weight.

In this research, Joham and her colleagues evaluated the prevalence of asthma in reproductive-age women. They also looked into the effect of obesity on asthma prevalence in the women who had PCOS compared with those who did not have PCOS.

In examining these links, Joham and her colleagues looked into data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health (ALSWH), which is an ongoing national periodic survey. This survey has been following more than 58,000 Australian women of various ages since 1996 and periodically gathering data from them about the factors that influence their health.

“The results of this observational study need to be confirmed with results in other populations, and exploration of these relationships in longitudinal studies is needed,” Joham said.

Multiple research studies have looked into the various aspects of PCOS and the remedies potentially helpful for it.

There are actually adaptogen herbs like ashwagandha that researchers have found to be potentially helpful. Intake of this ancient, Ayurvedic remedy has long been associated with a myriad of health benefits.

It has been found to have adaptogenic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, antimicrobial, hypocholesterolemic, cardioprotective, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and anti-angiogenic agents, as well as tannins, potassium, nitrate, fatty acids, and glucose.

Some studies have demonstrated this therapeutic ingredient works in correcting hormonal imbalances inside the body. Today, superior-strength, accurately labeled, and highly potent formulas like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha are widely resorted to by PCOS sufferers. (amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO)
