(Newswire.net — May 26, 2020) Orlando, FL — Experts have been providing some helpful measures to help people maintain their heart health. It is important to realize that there are many factors affecting heart health, and one is sleep.

A study was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

It was carried out by the researchers from the United States and the United Kingdom. The investigators analyzed sleep habits as well as medical records of 461,347 people aged 40–69 years living in the U.K.

The findings of the analysis have shown that subjects who slept less than 6 hours every night had an increased risk of a first heart attack by 20 percent in comparison to those who slept 6–9 hours. Individuals who had more than 9 hours of sleep had a higher risk by 34 percent.

The researchers have further found that maintaining sleep duration of 6 to 9 hours every night decreases the risk of a first heart attack by 18 percent in those people with a “high genetic liability” for heart disease onset.

According to senior study author Celine Vetter, Ph.D., the study provides some of the strongest proof yet that sleep duration is a key factor when it comes to heart health — and this holds true for everyone.

Vetter is an assistant professor of integrative physiology at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

There have been many research studies linked sleep habits and heart health. Unfortunately today, there are quite a number of people who are struggling to get a decent sleep on a daily basis. They are thought to be more susceptible to various health issues linked with sleep deprivation.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals that more than one-third of adults in the U.S. sleep less than the recommended 7 hours per night.

It is worth mentioning that the body needs all the nutrients it can get to have a good night’s sleep. Experts recommend increased intake of B vitamins as research suggests that good levels of vitamins B3, B5, B6, B9, and B12 may aid in achieving good sleep.

Studies have further shown they help in the regulation of the levels of the amino acid called tryptophan inside the body. This amino acids aids in the production of the body’s sleep-inducing melatonin.

These disease-fighting nutrients may be found in foods, but there are also supplements like Divine Bounty Vitamin B Complex available. It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (https://amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
