(Newswire.net — August 5, 2013) Poughkeepsie, New York – Singapore American School (SAS) high school faculty member, Frieda Dietrich, was awarded with the prestigious Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC)’s Lifetime Achievement Award at their annual conference in New York, United States of America.
When asked about the award, Mr. Dale Ford, Chair of the High School’s Counseling Department said, “I was thrilled to be there as she was recognized in front of over 1,000 counseling and admission professionals. Nobody is more deserving of this award than Frieda. She has always been a star in the SAS counseling office, but as a frequent and dynamic speaker at international conferences, she has also impressed others around the world.” Mr. Ford attended the conference with fellow SAS faculty Rich Modica, Ann Infante and Ms. Dietrich.
This award recognizes Ms. Dietrich’s outstanding service to the counseling profession and the international college counseling community. It is the OACAC’s highest member tribute and is awarded to only one person each year. The OACAC members include both international college admission officers and international high school counselors. Ms. Dietrich is only one of twelve individuals in the world who has received this honor.
Serving in the SAS High School since 2001, Ms. Dietrich has her Masters of Science from the University of Nebraska and held key positions in Fort Lupton, Colorado and Buffalo, New York (both in the United States of America) as well as international schools in Amsterdam and Cairo. At SAS she works with the students in grades 11 and 12 and facilitates many of the parent workshops each fall on such topics as financial aid, launching your senior and college programs for students with learning disabilities.
