(Newswire.net — March 7, 2022) Orlando, FL — Today, the scientific community continues to look into the various aspects of some of the world’s most common diseases. It has been time and again found that diet and food choices play a significant role in the prevention or development of certain diseases.
A study was carried out and published in the Frontiers in Neuroscience.
It has been found that kids who ate too much sugar could be at a heightened odds of becoming hyperactive, obese, and cognitively impaired as adults
This mouse study was spearheaded by QUUT researchers. It highlighted the decreased odds of sugar-induced weight gain as well as other health issues when mice were treated with a much smaller daily dose of sucrose.
The findings actually support the World Health Organization’s calls for a decrease in sugar intake by humans.
“Many children, adolescents, and adults in more than 60 countries, including Australia, have a diet consisting of more than four times the sugar (100g) recommended by the World Health Organization (25g per person per day),” said one of the lead authors, QUT neuroscientist Professor Selena Bartlett.
“More work needs to be done in the investigation of the long-term effects of sugar on adolescents and adults but our results with the mouse model are very promising,” added Professor Bartlett.
In recent evidence, it has been found that obesity and impulsive behaviors due to poor dietary habits result in further overconsumption of processed food and beverages. However, it has remained unknown what the long-term effects on cognitive processes and hyperactivity from sugar overconsumption, beginning at adolescence are.
“Our study found long-term sugar consumption (a 12-week period with the mice which started the trial at five weeks of age) at a level that significantly boosts weight gain, elicits an abnormal and excessive stimulation of the nervous system in response to novelty. It also alters both episodic and spatial memory. These results are like those reported in attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders,” the researchers said.
Following a healthy diet is vital for disease protection. In addition to avoiding sugar overload, it is similarly important to nourish the body with nutrients, such as B vitamins.
Researchers have been carrying out studies to look into the disease-fighting benefits of B vitamins. These nutrients have long been known for their disease-fighting potentials, and their insufficient levels inside the body are even linked with negative health outcomes.
Formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex could be helpful in delivering the healing goodness of these nutrients. It has Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6. (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
