(Newswire.net — August 18, 2020) Orlando, FL — The American Heart Association reveals that there is an estimated 103 million adults in the United States with high blood pressure. This, according to experts, is almost half of the adult U.S. population.

Dr. Paul Muntner, epidemiologist, says that with the aging of the population and increased life expectancy, the prevalence of high blood pressure is expected to continue to increase.

Muntneris co-chair of the group that wrote the AHA’s Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics 2018 Update, which was published in Circulation.

It is worth mentioning he is also a professor and vice chair in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Still in the U.S., the death rate due to hypertension skyrocketed by almost 11 percent between 2005 and 2015.

Some measures can be taken to reduce the risk of high blood pressure. This can be done through improving dietary and lifestyle practices.

Unfortunately according to statistics, only one in five Americans is able to get enough exercise. However many do not meet the daily requirement for exercise and have poor eating habits. In 2012, they have contributed to 45 percent of U.S. mortality due to heart disease, stroke and Type 2 diabetes.

It is imperative to resort to all-natural measures that could significantly help ward off this incurable condition. One of the best ways to do it is to choose the right kinds of food, and this particularly means consuming more fruits and vegetables.

It is similarly important to maintain a healthy weight, and one way to do this is to regularly exercise.

More and more researchers are investigating on the uses of powerful antioxidants like resveratrol in fighting hypertension.

Previous studies have shown that this powerful antioxidant has ways of protecting the body from high blood pressure.

According to a 2015 review, high doses of resveratrol intake aids in lessening the pressure exerted on artery walls every time the heart beats.

There have been many other studies that demonstrate the healing goodness of resveratrol. It is important to be warned that the risk of a type of pressure called systolic blood pressure often goes up with age.

It also rises as arteries stiffen. When it stays high, it becomes a risk factor for heart disease. The good news is that resveratrol has a blood-pressure-reducing effect. It has been found to work by producing more nitric oxide, which promotes blood vessel relaxation.

Resveratrol continues to astonish scientists and clinicians due to its health-enhancing, disease-fighting potentials.
