(Newswire.net — April 27, 2021) Orlando, FL — Studies looking into the effects of a sedentary lifestyle continue to increase. It is linked with the increased risk of diseases, and more significantly an early odds of death.
A study called HUNT was presented at ESC Congress 2019 together with the World Congress of Cardiology.
In this research, it has been found that individuals who spent two decades of living a sedentary lifestyle may be twice at the increased odds of premature death than those who are physically active.
The study aimed at assessing the manner changes in physical activity for more than 22 years were linked with subsequent death from all causes and cardiovascular disease. It involved inviting all residents of Norway aged 20 and above to participate in 1984-1986, 1995-1997, and 2006-2008.
According to the study author Dr. Trine Moholdt, their findings imply that to get the maximum health benefits of physical activity in terms of protection against premature all-cause and cardiovascular death, you need to continue being physically active.
Moholdt is from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway.
“You can also reduce your risk by taking up physical activity later in life, even if you have not been active before,” Moholdt adds.
It has been found that subjects who were physically inactive in both 1984-1986 and 2006-2008 had a 2-fold increased risk of all-cause death and 2.7-fold greater risk of dying from cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular diseases is undeniably prevalent today, and this is why more and more experts look into the ways to reduce their rates. It is important to realize that many of these diseases are highly preventable through making dietary and lifestyle improvements.
Choosing the right foods is vital in maintaining heart health. Aside from eating more heart healthy foods, experts have long been stressing the relevance of engaging in physical activities. The findings of the above mentioned study are just one of the many demonstrating how exercise helps in heart health and a decreased mortality risk.
It is interesting to note that some natural remedies have also been found useful for heart health. One is through the use of curcumin, which many scientists found to have remarkable healing potentials.
Curcumin is widely studied due to its medicinal benefits. It’s been found to exert various mechanisms in benefiting heart health. It is even widely taken nowadays via supplementation, such as the use of Divine Bounty Curcumin.
