(Newswire.net — August 19, 2013) Lake Worth, FL — Walker Reid Strategies (WRS) attended the National Association of Energy Service Companies Capitol Hill legislative fly-in. WRS had the opportunity to meet with numerous Senators and staff members to discuss the Senate Finance Committee tax reform efforts related to energy efficiency policies, including the extension of the Section 179D tax deduction. Discussions demonstrated true bi-partisan support and agreement regarding the importance of sound energy efficiency policies. There were hints of interest from numerous leaders in both parties on championing energy efficiency tax policies such as the Section 179D incentive or similar.
Nelson Marin, principal of Walker Reid Strategies, who attended the meetings on behalf of Walker Reid Strategies, stated that “although there was general confusion from the Senate Offices regarding the Senate Finance Committee’s process on tax reform, there is real bi-partisan agreement on ensuring that a cost-effective energy efficiency tax expenditure is included in any sort of tax reform moving forward.” Mr. Marin went on to say “incentives for meeting energy efficiency targets will help grow the economy while reducing the nation’s energy dependency.”
Walker Reid Strategies is dedicated to ensuring that energy efficiency incentives continue to be available to promote the reduction of energy consumed by buildings nationwide. Section 179D of the Federal tax code is currently a key piece of legislation which is set to expire at the end of calendar year 2013. WRS is working with numerous congressional offices on energy policies and will continue working to promote the extension and reform of the Section 179D tax deduction.
