Concordia University Chicago announces a webinar series, Return to Play: Strategies for Athletes to Retrain Without Injury, on how to get competition-ready in a post-pandemic world.

Concordia University Chicago has announced a new webinar series called Return to Play: Strategies for Athletes to Retrain and Recondition Without Injury. The series will be hosted in partnership with Concordia University St. Paul and St. Francis College Brooklyn.

This series will help coaches, trainers and athletes access expert guidance on how athletes can get competition-ready and safely return to peak performance in a post-pandemic world. The webinars will be presented from July 15 to August 19, 2021.

Concordia University of Chicago is a leading university in sport and exercise science in the United States. The new webinar series will include talks given by Concordia-Chicago faculty and graduate students. Speakers include experts on topics such as athletic training and conditioning, high performance coaching, and sports nutrition.

The Return to Play webinar series will teach coaches, athletes and trainers scientific, research-based strategies that they can use to safely return athletes to their pre-pandemic levels of performance. The talks will discuss testing for body recomposition, goal setting for retraining, reconditioning for competition, and more.

The webinars will place particular emphasis on avoiding injury when returning to sport after living a sedentary lifestyle during the pandemic. The series also includes a roundtable called Nutrition Strategies to Reduce Injuries and Facilitate Healing.

Other Return to Play webinars will cover the importance of movement for an aging population and paying attention to mental health while getting back into shape. These lectures can provide aspiring athletes with helpful tips and encouragement while starting a fitness routine.

Prospective participants can register for individual webinars or the entire series on the Return to Play webpage or the Concordia-Chicago exercise science website. The webinars will be held through Zoom. Recordings will be available after each event.
