(Newswire.net — August 8, 2013) Sydney, Australia — New standards being set by Google has led many web designers to rethink their current practices. Although in some cases many are lagging and falling behind with the changes. Innovative web designers are embracing the changes and acting accordingly.
And why would that be of interest? Well if you are one of those wielding a mobile device that accesses the internet you should be interested. If you are a business owner you should be doubly interested as it affects you twice. And if figures are what you go by then well over 500,000 mobile apps have been downloaded by Australians this year already. That’s how mobile devices are impacting our lives.
There’s a lot of mobile devices out there and that’s why “it’s time for a change”. The change comes in the way we view internet content on our phones and other devices. It’s not uncommon for many of us to switch from phone to iPad to Desktop PC just so we can view the content we are looking for. Some sites can be downright unpleasant or even viewable on mobile devices. Google is now taking steps to change all that.
Here is what Google Developers released almost a year ago.
“Google recommends webmasters follow the industry best practice of using responsive web design, namely serving the same HTML for…rendering on each device….If responsive design is not the best option to serve your users, Google supports that…HTML can be on the same URL or on different URLs, and Googlebot can handle both setups appropriately ……” Last updated December 3, 2012
And this more recent announcement has some very worried “To improve the search experience for smartphone users…..we plan to roll out several ranking changes in the near future that address sites that are misconfigured for smartphone users….June 11, 2013
So if you have a website designed prior to late 2012 you might be deciding how to approach these changes. If you have a site that was designed this year and it doesn’t resize to fit mobile devices then you may have encountered a designer struggling to keep up with the changes. Mobilcom, a company I have previously written about took up the challenge in a big way.
Merging to form Fusion Themes the company sourced it’s web development team from countries where web design best practices are the current educational standards. When you look at the field of web design, Sydney, where Fusion Themes is based, is the capital city best known for quality web developers. So to have a competitive edge in any business one must remain up to date in the industry they are in.
Fusion Themes Web Design Sydney, have expanded into other areas as well if their website is anything to go by. Their website is still in development at the time of writing this article but it has included Graphic Design and Online Marketing among it’s Website Design, Mobile Website and Mobile App Design among its content. They appear to be offering packages that will cater for not only small business but also corporate entities.
We know that Mobilcom was well received by the Sydney business community for the way it conducted itself. We can only assume Fusion Themes Web Design Sydney will conduct itself in similar fashion.
