(Newswire.net — June 14, 2013)Vaughn, ON — Hotel Solstice is Shadowpath Theatre Productions annual fundraiser which will be held at the Aloft Vaughn Mills Hotel on June 21st. The evening will feature plays in the hotel rooms, dance performances in the boardroom, live music on the patio and visual artists creating spontaneous paintings.
The goal of the June 21st fundraiser “Hotel Solstice” is to raise five thousand dollars. The proceeds will go towards the full scale productions of the Canadian debut of “The White Rose” – by Liilian Groag. This twenty thousand dollar production will employ fifteen York Region artists and will take place during Holocaust Education Week in November 2013.
Ten per cent of the money raised on June 21st will also go towards the Markham Youth Theatre (MYT) to support their artistic endeavors.
Donations to Shadowpath allows the development of programming that’s creative, accessible and local/ The majority of the funds support their artists, actors, directors, writers and designers. Charitable tax receipts will be mailed to addresses provided.
Understanding that theatre art plays a role in the development and identity of a community, Alex Karolyi said, “Shadowpath provides a platform for expression, creation and communication to enlighten and engage the citizens of the York region.” Alex Karolyi welcomes everyone to attend this York region event but wants people to be aware that tickets are limited. Alex Karolyi graduated from the Randolph Academy of Toronto in 2000 and founded Shadowpath productions that same year. She has written and produced such plays as Zigga and Broken Record for the Toronto Fringe Festival and has had her award winning plays produced in Toronto, the GTA and Vancouver.
As Shawdowpath’s artistic director she has received numerous grants that allowed Shadowpath to produce full-scale productions such as Look Back in Anger and The Good German.
Shadowpath Theatre Productions obtained charitable status in 2012.
