(Newswire.net — October 24, 2015) — Patricia Smith, mother of one of the four Americans killed in the terrorist attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya in 2012, told Russia Today news that three years after the tragedy, she still doesn’t know how her son died. However, she accuses the State Department of lying.

“She [Hillary Clinton] sent in a drone so that they could look and see what was going on, and they saw what was going on. I’m imagining that they probably watched my son get killed and they still didn’t do anything. They had over nine hours to send somebody.”

Patricia Smith told RT’s Lindsay France that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton promised to tell her what happened to her son Sean. At the multi-hour hearing on the Benghazi case, Hillary Clinton lied when she told the Senate there was nothing she could have done.

“If we’d had a more reliable security force in large enough numbers, well-armed and well-focused on protecting the compound,” Clinton told the 12-member committee at the hearing that lasted for hours, but nothing really was said besides the State Department did what it could.

Presidential candidate Clinton at the hearing on Thursday accused the consulate militia of being unreliable and not being efficient enough.

According to Smith, the security guards that were on duty at the location told her personally they were ordered to stand down.

“They told me personally that if they would have been allowed to go, they very possibly could have saved my son’s life and the ambassador’s,” Smith told RT.

Answering the RT’s journalist on if she watched the hearing, Smith said it was “extremely painful” but she had to do it because she is the only one that is doing anything about it.

“I’m 75 now, and I don’t know if it’s going to take me to be 100,” Smith told RT’s Lindsay France, “but I’m going to keep on talking and asking and begging, begging for answers from my government, because I think I deserve to know.”

“Why only Benghazi and why now?” CNN’s Frida Ghitis asks in a report, adding that what happened in Benghazi back in 2012 was horrific, however what is unfolding in Washington is not about that.

“That’s the whiff so many people detect. We know what it is,” Ghitis concluded.
