(Newswire.net — April 10, 2020) — Bernie Sanders is retiring from the presidential race. This time he didn’t wait too long, like four years ago, and that’s an advantage for Democrats who have time to get accustomed to listing Biden – or do they?

Shortly after Bernie Sanders announced his retirement from the race for president, his name became a trending topic on social media, also sweeping the coronavirus out of the home pages of mainstream news giants such as CNN and New York Times.
After the first election in Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada in February this year, Sanders was in the lead. However, it all changed after Hillary Clinton called democrats to support Joe Biden who then won with a considerable distinction in the South Carolina election. Sanders has been on a downward path ever since.
In a very important “super-Tuesday” election, he managed to win a majority of votes in only four states, unlike Biden, who won in ten states. By that time it was clear that Sanders could not be a Democratic candidate in the upcoming election. So, he quit. Better late than too late, like what he did for the previous elections.
Now Democrat voters have seven more months to list Biden as their candidate. Also, the stubborn ones who have been shouting “Bernie or doom” should get accustomed to listing Biden, unless they want Donald Trump to stay in power for another four years.
However, some say democrats will ditch Biden in the months to come. Rumors that Biden will be ‘replaced’ before his nomination is set in stone remain just that -rumors, as the top Democratic candidate has shown no sign of dropping out before the convention, and it remains unclear who would take his place, with no other candidates running or signaling a late bid for the presidency.
But the former press chief for the Bernie Sanders campaign has lashed out at the Democratic Party, arguing that it will hand a political victory to Trump and corporate oligarchs if it doesn’t “replace” Joe Biden with a better nominee.
“Bernie was too kind to go after Biden, but it’s coming,” tweeted Briahna Joy Gray, press secretary for the now-suspended presidential campaign of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. “Either Dem leadership cares more about maintaining a corporate status quo than getting rid of Trump, or they’re planning to replace Joe – adopting a pretty fast and loose relationship w/ representative Democracy,” she wrote.
In her tweet, Gray shared the TV segment from Fox’s Tucker Carlson calling the former VP’s electability into question.
“Ask yourself, is Joe Biden ready to lead this country? Could he find his car in a three-tiered parking garage? Could he navigate a salad bar? And by the way, what exactly is his position on the Coronavirus pandemic? Those are the mysteries Democrats now face,” Carson mocked.
Sanders – whose campaign was fueled by working-class economic woes and vows to overhaul the American healthcare and higher education systems, suspended his candidacy earlier this week. He noted, however, he would remain in the race only to collect delegates in hopes of influencing the Democratic Party platform at its nominating convention this summer.
