One of the largest hurdles as a store owner is setbacks and that’s why you should be able to deal with them no matter what. When almost all people go into business for themselves they tend to break down under pressure and one must not do that. When running a store you need to be strong and use each setback as just a running start to get further.
Can you see yourself running a business?
Do you know what it takes to run a business? One thing that lots of people think is that they could easily run a business but the truth of the matter is, can you really do it. Operating a company is the same thing as running a store it is just running a store you have more help. If you cannot see yourself running a large thriving company then it might be that a franchise is not the best fit.
How will you handle others?
Operating a company of any kind means you will need to be playing both roles as good cop and bad cop. What most individuals do not understand is you need to be able to let others down and not making them mad at you. When I say let others down you need to be able to watch over your franchise so that it doesn’t go under. If you cannot fire an employee or tell them to go and do something then you probably do not have what it takes.
What will you do if the franchise doesn’t work?
If you can’t make any money what will your next step be? Will you continue attempting to make it work or will you close up shop and go back to a normal 9-5 job?
