SALT LAKE CITY—June 2, 2011Kid to Kid, Children’s and Maternity Resale, was named the winner in the Miscellaneous Merchandising/Services category for Utah’s Best of State Awards for 2011. Now in its ninth year, the Utah Best of State Awards Program acknowledges excellence in a vast array of industry sectors including business, entertainment, education, hospitality, retail, technology, and sports.

“It is a privilege for our franchisees to be recognized for the important service we provide to families trying to stretch their budgets,” mentioned Shauna Sloan, Kid to Kid founder.  “Last year, the 11 Utah Kid to Kid stores paid parents over $1,000,000 to recycle approximately 1,000,000 outgrown children’s items.  Kid to Kid shoppers saved more than $618,000 over the cost of new products. It is a wonderful opportunity to have this Best of State exposure to educate our community more about who we are and what we do.”

According to chief executive officer Dana Layton, winners of the 2011 Best of State Awards have been rated and judged on their impact on the community, excellence and achievement, and innovation and originality. This years judging was hosted by Salt Lake Community College’s Miller Business Resource Center and took place over a period of four full days. Award winners will be honored at a formal Awards Gala presentation on June 4, 2011. KUTV2’s Shauna Lake and Mark Koelbel will emcee the event.
