NEWS RELEASE:
(Newswire.net — January 23, 2013)Menlo Park, CA–Mark Zuckerberg recently announced Graph search, a new search engine on Facebook. “It’s about graphing our part of the web.” It allows consumers to search through massive amounts of information on the site find exactly who or what they want to find.
For example, you can search directly for a restaurant that is both in your area and that some of your friends have visited. Zuckerberg reported using this tool with his wife to find a Mexican Restaurant.
While the tool will currently be available to a limited amount of users right now, the announcement has launched an even greater need for social media managers who work from home. Local businesses need help understanding how to optimize their Facebook page so that consumers can find them when they use this new tool.
At first searches will be limited to people, places, interests and photos. Facebook plans to expand the search options to include status messages and more. “You want a search tool that gives you access to just things that people have shared with you,” said Zuckerberg.
Another area that small business owners want help with is making sure that the content others can find about them is favorable. With a supercharged search tool like this one, reputation management can be a scary thing for small business owners to handle on their own. Many reach out to social media and reputation managers who work from home.
Zuckerberg stated “. “This is the coolest thing we’ve done in a while.” It is unclear if he understood the demand he created for work at home job opportunities. Many of which can be filled by people with simple and effective training.
The jobs that this announcement has created are often filled by stay at home moms and people who have been laid off by corporations. Often the skills they start with are the ability to play around on Twitter and Facebook. Sales experience is often a plus but not always necessary. The biggest tool the applicants need is the internet.
