More than a dozen chefs will participate in the festival’s classic event, where professional and amateur chefs create delicious recipes using La Caja China’s BBQ Grills to roast their pigs.
Swine & Wine Chefs Exclusively Use La Caja China Roasting Boxes
In 1985, the company’s founder, Roberto Guerra, built the first La Caja China prototype: an aluminum lined wooden box with a charcoal tray. Since then, Guerra’s company has created a full line of roasting products, including barbeque grill systems in a range of sizes. Guerra’s pig cooker has proven that it will create delicious, mouthwatering recipes while cutting cooking time dramatically. Guerra’s innovation has been featured on the Food Network and celebrated by master chefs including Bobby Flay. It is no surprise that this year’s Festival will mark the 13th year that La Caja China grills are used exclusively in the South Beach Food and Wine event.
The South Beach Wine and Food Festival will be held from February 21 through February 24, 2013. On Sunday, February 24, the Swine & Wine event will feature top chefs using La Caja China’s roasters to create succulent, tender, whole roasted pigs, each with the chef’s individual twist of rubs and spices. Each year the chefs use La Caja China boxes to roast pork or lamb, and this year the barbecue menu features the farm-raised and all natural Duroc & Hampshire breed of pigs. Festival’s Closing Party Also Set to Feature La Caja China BBQ Grill
In addition to being the exclusive grill used in the South Beach Wine and Food Festival’s Swine & Wine event, the company’s Arcada Boxes are also set to be used at the Festival’s official closing party.
