For Immediate Release
(Newswire.net — April2, 2013) Denver CO — Spirit of Love will screen privately for a multicultural event in Denver at the SIE film center on May 6th, 2013.The multicultural cast of Caucasian, African American, Chinese, Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens along with inner city kids and hearing come together to bridge the gap between various cultures while crushing stereotypes and racism in an inspiring coming of age film,
The narrative feature film was written directed and produced by Darla Rae and Film It Productions. The film was filmed in Denver and surrounding cities last August over 14 days.
The film is authentic, genuine, and pure of heart. The kids had an opportunity to come together with professionals and experience something unique by acting or working as crew on a feature length family film.
Once I interviewed world renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Benjamin Carson for a film I did called “Dandy Kids” who said “just because someone starts their life out behind the 8 ball doesn’t mean they have to stay there. You have to raise the bar” I’ve never forgotten that quote. So when the diverse group showed up at the auditions I knew I had to use the gift that had been given to us in the lives of these incredible teens standing before me. I went back and rewrote the script to fit the talented kids who desired to raise their own bar. The teens were amazing and did not and will not disappoint. Although space is limited, we are excited for members of the community and media to attend the film with cast and crew members. Everyone on our team made a great contribution to the film and the lives of these fabulous teens. Now we want to share it with the world and this is the first step, said Rae.
Some of the teens who appear in the film are Alexei Taylor, Maddie Burkholder, Ford Eberlein, Hunter Schultz, Brad Hughes, Cameron Clark, Lizzie Feher -Peiker, Joz Lichty and Josh Perkins who plays the teenage Mike Glenn..
In addition to the core cast Mike “Stinger” Glenn and Coach Randy Perkins of the Colorado Miners and members of the Colorado Miners youth basketball and 5280 girls’ basketball team all whom appear in the film along with Mr. Entertainment Kirk Montgomery will also be attending the VIP premiere.
All but three of the teens in lead or supporting roles are deaf or hard of hearing. The film will screen with Open Captions and features both ASL and spoken English. Please contact Kathy Shipp to attend this event. http://spiritoflovemovie.com or 720-620-0536
