(Newswire.net — April 29, 2013) Columbus, Ohio — A new kid’s summer camp offers exposure to fused glass making craze. Dublin Ohio’s Creation Nation is the first to offer glass projects for Children’s summer camps. Karen Bresky, the owner of Creation Nation, was quoted, “We have diligently developed and created a series of theme based glass art projects that kids will be excited about. Some people are hesitant to work with glass, but we keep the process very simple and safe for everyone. The results are amazing! At the end of each of the camps, the kids will be very proud of their work.”

Creation Nation, which opened in November 2011, was the first central Ohio retail establishment to pioneer the concept of allowing its customers to design and make their own glass jewelry, vases, bowls and night lights. “Our glass program is really exceptional.” said Bresky. “When we first opened our clients primarily thought of us as a “Paint Your Own Pottery” studio, but now glass comprises two thirds of our business. Glass art can be addicting. We see the same faces frequently at our Ladies’ Night every Friday. People that started with basic glass projects, like coasters and trays, are now creating more and more intricate bowls, platters and vases every week.

Children absolutely love the glass too. Their favorite projects include making their own colorful night lights and glass wall letters for their room. Children have such imagination and creativity; they are so inspiring to watch as they explore this new medium!” Bresky describes glass art as a fusion of art and science. While clients become artists by designing and creating their glass art work, the staff handles the science side, controlling the intricate kiln that fuses the clients’ colorful creations. Heating the glass to the perfect temperature (from 1290 to 1,800 Degree F) allows the staff to achieve a professional look on everyone’s projects even the newest glass artist. Photo examples of some of the glass projects can be found at examples.

Instruction is important at Creation Nation. Each glass camp, party or class is overseen by an artist trained in glass art as well as advanced ceramic techniques. The customer creates a beautiful pattern or picture with pre-cut pieces of colored glass, and then attaches the design to a glass base piece for firing. The staff of Creation Nation will then fuse the different glass pieces together in the large glass kiln. If the customer wants to create a vase or bowl, then the piece then undergoes a second kiln run to “slump” or “drape” each piece over a mold.

Creation Nation’s Camp Create was designed for kids aged between 6 and 14 years of age. Camps will be held weekdays between June 18, 2013 with the last day of camps on August 15, 2013. Each camp is themed, and runs from 9:30 to 12 Tuesday through Thursday. All camps are held at the studio which is located at 7537 Sawmill Road in Dublin Ohio. Parents interested in scheduling a camp class for their child can go to summer camp information .
