(Newswire.net — May 14, 2013) SAN DIEGO, CA — Weight loss guru Natalie Jill suffers from the celiac disease, and explains that a raw foods diet can be difficult to uphold and follow, but it is a very effective way to stay healthy and stay in shape. A raw foods diet does not mean that you have to become a vegan or a hardcore vegetarian, but it means “eating unprocessed, whole plant-based, preferably organic foods,” Natalie Jill says. The goal of a raw foods diet is that weight loss and weight maintenance can be achieved through eating uncooked foods.

The first piece of advice that Natalie offers when you must cook something, is to keep the temperature below 116 degrees Fahrenheit, as essential food enzymes in living and raw foods aren’t destroyed when the temperature is kept below that degree of heat. The enzymes that are not killed while cooking food at a low temperature are believed to help fight diseases and boost the immune system. Natalie Jill has even written healthy meal recipe books to provide people with a step by step plan to make having a healthier lifestyle easy.

Weight loss expert Natalie Jill started considering the positive and negative aspects of a raw foods diet after reading the biography of the late Steve Jobs, who also lived a raw food diet lifestyle. “I really like the theory behind a raw foods lifestyle.  Eating fresh unprocessed food, eating organically, and coincidentally eating foods that are high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals,” says Natalie. When shopping, consider picking up the following; fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, seeds, nuts, legumes, grains, seaweeds, coconut milk, purified water, raw eggs, fish, meat, and unpasteurized, non-homogenized milk and dairy products.

The negative aspects of changing to a raw foods lifestyle involves not only support from family and friends, but also the fact that some foods like tomatoes and carrots must be cooked fully to release specific nutrients. “Most of the foods consumed in a Raw Foods diet are low in both Vitamin D and Calcium, which can lead to low bone mass in certain people,” says Natalie when talking about concerns of a raw foods diet, “so these deficiencies must be compensated for.”
