(Newswire.net — May 19, 2013) Washington, DC — After lying low for a few months the China People’s Liberation Army has started hacking (attacking) U.S. companies again. President Obama asked them politely to stop and they did for a while. This was reported recently by the NY Times writers DAVID E. SANGER and NICOLE PERLROTH

“Using different techniques, according to computer industry experts and American officials”. The  Obama administration bet wrong that calling them out, would force new Chinese leadership to stop the gang of hackers working for them.

Unit 62398 is a symbol of Chinese cyber power. Private security firms say the gang is attacking the same targets it attacked before.

The hackers are after intellectual property. Word press security software creator Paul Clifford reported in an earlier article that over one trillion dollars is stolen each year. http://www.newswire.net/newsroom/pr/74064-website_security.html

“They have stolen product blueprints, manufacturing plans, clinical trial tests results, pricing documents, negotiation strategies” primarily from US companies.

This gang even hacked RSA a maker of data security products used by the US government and top defense contractors like Lockheed Martin.

National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon is visiting China soon and will make computer hacking a priority in talks with the Chinese. There is little optimism that the talks will prompt the Chinese government to crack down on the hackers.

The fear among American officials and corporate security experts is that China may establish new rules for internet commerce with more censorship and fewer penalties for intellectual property theft.

Google has abandoned the China market after repeated attacks on its systems but is still a constant target for Unit 61934. The Chinese government hackers fear no one, not the US government or our biggest corporations. The law does not allow companies to retaliate against hackers.

What does this mean for those that rely on Word press sites to run a business? If hackers around the world can hack into corporate Americas sophisticated security systems, it’s only a matter of time before they get around to us. Or are they already here? With 30 thousand sites hacked every day. Mr. Clifford’s research discovered, over 90 thousand word press sites are already affected.

There are ways to discourage hackers, the way we slow down and discourage a thief from breaking into our homes and cars. Instead of using an alarm and dead bolt locks we use software to secure and notify us when our site has been attacked.

Paul Clifford, creator of SecureScanPro and a victim of hacking came up with a solution. Secure Scan Pro is a word press plugin that scans your site for security leaks and even shows you how to fix them. You must back up your site before installing any software or making changes to it.
