(Newswire.net — June 18, 2012) Salt Lake City, UT — What some would consider a controversial move, the Superman franchise is being used as a recruiting tool for the National Guard. The famous gym that trained the cast of the movie “300” and got Henry Cavill in top shape for Superman: Man of Steel, has partnered with the National Guard.

Mark Twight is known as the “trainer of Hollywood’s action stars”. He runs the exclusive gym in Salt Lake City called Gym Jones, which uses a brutally effective training technique that is similar to what is being performed in many CrossFit gyms across the country.

According to Mark Twight, his gym isn’t focused on training actors:

“It is a little unusual for us to train actors, although that is what our gym is most known for.”

“Most of our educational training is actually done with the military.”

Mark has been training and educating elite units of the military for 14 years. Training Hollywood action stars is a much smaller part of the focus at his gym. He focuses on functional fitness that helps military units in the field, physical aesthetics is simply a secondary benefit of this type of training.

Although this CrossFit style workout is effective, it isn’t necessarily the fastest route if your aim is just to look good at the beach. Many would consider programs like Visual Impact Muscle Building, a more direct approach to getting lean and ripped like a Hollywood actor. It works in a more traditional gym environment, whereas Mark Twight’s approach requires a CrossFit style gym.
