How eCommerce Websites Can Satisfy Google's Content Requirements for Top Rankings

( — July 7, 2013) Denver, CO — Google’s algorithms are looking for quality content, and so are consumers.  Many people feel that content comes in the form of articles or blog posts.  However, even ecommerce sites can provide quality content for consumers, along with satisfying the new Panda/Penguin Google algorithms.

Consumers do not want to be bombarded with advertising when they are searching for products online. They want detailed product descriptions, customer reviews, and other information that is relevant to the products they are interested in purchasing. You can provide customer reviews on your website, along with all the information about the product.  All of the purchasing options are also information that people will want to know when they are searching online.

Videos are another way that customer reviews and testimonials can be featured.  Also videos made of product demonstrations are very helpful for any type of product that has to be assembled or need instructions for its use.  If people can get all their questions answered, and gain the information they are searching for online, they are more apt to purchase from the company that provided them with the answers to their questions.

One of the first steps to take to provide people with the information they are searching for, and satisfy the search engines to gain top rankings, is to not use a generic manufacturer’s product description especially if you have lots of competition for your product and all their descriptions are the same manufacturer provided description.  You will want to take the time to create a unique, individual, emotionally driven product description that is totally different from the one provided by the manufacturer.  People will appreciate that you took the time to create a unique product description, and Google will rank your descriptions higher than the overused manufacturer descriptions that all your competitors will be using, and you will be rewarded with higher rankings since they will be unique content.
