FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Newswire.net— August 1, 2013) New York, NY—Marty Balin has traversed the decades of our musical history in the United States and the world, for that matter. Beginning his creative career as an artist, he quickly gravitated towards the stage which quickly led him to his passion for music, influenced by another grand legend, Johnny Mathis.
Balin rekindled his love affair with artistic painting after 2000 when he started painting and exhibiting his works in various art galleries. His canvas for art was another manifestation of his voice and guitar for music, as he views music and art as a platform for expression of positive attitudes, love, and a medium for world transformation.
From being the founding member and lead vocalist of Jefferson Airplane, the rock pioneer of this genre of music blazed the trail from folk rock music to the electric and percussion sound of what has come to be defined as “Psychedelic Rock”. So many greats like Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, Jim Morrison, and Steve Miller to name a few of Balin’s contemporary peers, enjoyed the fruits of this musical path.
Balin reunited with his Jefferson Starship past as Hit maker, conducting touring stints from 1993 where he performed both with the Starship group and alone, bringing out audiences at all of his touring venues with his tenor voice that has been described as “timeless” , while also blending the “oldies” with his “newbies” that share the feelings and electricity while engaging his audiences. Songs like Miracles, Count On Me, and Hearts from the past share the limelight with Rock Gods and The Stripper of 2011 and ’12. Timeless with his voice is aptly apropos for his audience appeal that now crosses over the generation gaps of Baby Boomers and Generation X and Y alike.
