Best Summer Vacation Destinations: Cape Cod Makes Top 20

One such Boston native, Deborah Bradley, founder of online Boston travel guide, Boston Tourism Made Easy, said, “I used to visit Cape Cod with my family every summer. It was one of the highlights of my year.”

The U.S. News Travel top 20 report also had a tip on keeping costs down when visiting the Cape, “Its popularity can make house rentals and hotel rooms expensive, so book early.”

According to Mass Benchmarks, an estimated 6,000,000 people visit Cape Cod each year to enjoy its world famous beaches and seafood.

In 2011, Shermans travel named Cape Cod one of the Top 10 places to Whale Watch.

In 2012, the Cape’s High Pointe Inn was selected as one of the “Top 10 Romantic Inns” by American Historic Inns and (Cape Cod in general is often touted as a top location for a romantic getaway).

The Cape also boasts walking and bike paths, mini-golf, fishing, a multitude of public and private golf courses, and a strong artists community.
