(Newswire.net – August 20, 2013) When she heard about a friend who was laid off, the owner of a successful technology company, was surprised, but thought it was a temporary blip.
Turns out, it was the beginning of an avalanche.
“ I am shocked by the amount of corporate layoffs which has trickled down to small business layoffs as the economy has slowed”, says entrepreneur Roxanne Batson. “It’s several years later and I just heard of another layoff the other day.”
The problem is that with highly educated baby boomers and new college graduates hitting the market all at the same time, there is not enough room in big business to take them all.
Though the economy seems to be picking up slightly, it is in a very few industries.
Enter the Age of the Entrepreneur.
More young and old people are turning to the notion of having their own business, and rightly so. At least they can count on themselves to provide work…or can they?
“From what I see, there are a lot of feet on the street but very few know how to really do this without working themselves to death. And even then they’re not making the kind of money they need to live the lifestyle they want. As a result their incomes have dropped by half and they are having to downsize their lives at a time they should be enjoying it” says Batson.
HowToGetBusiness.com was the brainstorm of Batson and a partner several years ago as internet marketing was just taking off. The two business women who had been either sales professionals or executive sales trainers at one time or another decided to start offering online sales training courses.
They were successful in attracting students, but gave it up as Batson’s new technology business started to take off. She chose to set aside the concept of teaching people how to get business until some time later.
That time has come.
HowToGetBusiness.com is being relaunched to help entrepreneurs, professionals and small business owners learn the strategies and techniques developed by top sales professionals.
Roxanne, who has won numerous awards for sales, business and leadership feels it’s the right time to help the new business owners as well as those who have been in business a while but want to learn new or more effective strategies to grow their revenue and income.
As she says “If I can help just one person recover their income and learn how to make six figures without having to rely on corporate America to support them, I will feel like a success. But with the internet reaching millions of people, I hope to reach a lot more.”
