FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Newswire.net — August 30, 2013) Chevy Chase, MD — Experiencing hair loss can be embarrassing for both men and women, especially if the hair loss is experienced at a young age.  There are many reasons for losing hair, including a genetic factor which makes preventing hair loss almost impossible to do.  However, there are other reasons for losing hair that can be effectively treated with medications or scalp treatments.

If someone has hair loss issues, they will need to see a hair loss specialist to find out why your problem is occurring.  During your consultation, a doctor will examine their scalp and hair to see what the causes of the hair loss may be.  Once they’ve examined the scalp and performed some testing, which is usually painless, they can then offer a solution to the hair loss.

One of the hair treatment options they may ask people to consider is hair transplantation MD.  Many men and women are leery when they are given that option because hair transplantations didn’t turn out so well in the past, or they may be worried about scarring.  However, with the advent of new technology and new methods, having a hair transplant can give you back a full head of hair that looks as natural as if it grew there, with little to no visible scarring.

During a FUE transplantat DC, healthy hair follicles are selected and extracted from a donor site on the scalp and transplanted into the area where the hair is thin or non-existent. If there are not enough hair follicles for extraction, new technology is emerging that may offer a solution for these individuals in the near future. Using cell and tissue engineering, scientists have been able to grow hair follicles by combining two types of hair cells within a translucent fibrous matrix.

The 3D hair follicle model mimics a natural hair follicle and can be implanted in areas of the scalp where needed to help grow hair.  When transplanted in mice, natural looking hair structures were generated and this technology is being developed for use on human subjects.  While this technology isn’t available now, many can still get a hair restoration treatment from hair loss specialists that will help you regain a head full of healthy hair.
