A pallet is a flat transport structure that supports materials in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, front loader, or other jacking device. A pallet is the structural foundation of a unit load which allows handling and storage efficiencies. There are many advantages to wooden pallets. Not only are they eco-friendly, but they are also inexpensive, easily repaired, and can be recycled into mulch, poster board, and paper. Older ones made from wood can also be used to construct new pallets, depending upon the condition of the material. Unlike pallets made of plastic, if wooden pallets break, repairs can be made to restore them for use. Many wooden models are made with various boards. These boards can be removed, if broken, and replaced individually.
