Last year Dr. Richard Rosenblum was selected as one of the area’s Top Docs in the category of Plastic Surgery. He has again made the 757 listing this year.
Dr. Richard S. Rosenblum was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He graduated from Norfolk Academy and went on to study at Colgate University, where he played football and majored in religion. He returned to the south to attend the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He began his surgical training at the University of Kentucky in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Focused on achieving true Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, he was invited to attend prestigious Vanderbilt University where he completed his Plastic Surgery residency. He ultimately achieved rare double board certification in both Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery.
In an effort to further specialize in facial cosmetic surgery, he completed an additional fellowship with Dr. William P. Magee, Jr. and Operation Smile International. During that year he traveled to several countries where new techniques were being developed for pediatric/infant surgery as well as adult cosmetic surgery. He was also afforded the rare opportunity to spend several months in Paris with renowned cosmetic plastic surgeons. It was there that he was exposed to innovative cosmetic procedures and techniques which are still being introduced to the United States today.
