The course involves teaching so students have a understanding of the process and the science behind conducting an energy rating. The course focuses on topics such as basic principles of building science, blower door testing procedures, duct leakage testing procedures, construction flaws as well as energy modelling. The students will go through six days of training and testing which is inclusive of field work forms.
The course has been accredited through Residential Energy Services Network and students should qualify by excelling in the HERS certification test. Students can choose to study through distance learning so that they can prepare for certification exams, take up job training requirements and collect education credits.
