The cancer donations were inspired by Movember as well as an employee of Austin Steam and Clean’s family member lost the battle to cancer earlier this year. Movember (a portmanteau word from moustache and “November”) is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness/money for men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male related cancer types.
The children portion of the donations are going to various Austin area children charities that are focused on providing food, shelter, clothing, toys as well as other basic needs during the holiday season and beyond.
