You are doomed to fail reaching your weight loss goals unless you design a plan around your lifestyle. You need to figure out how much time you can devote to excercise and how much you wish to lose. If you don’t do those first steps, your plan doesn’t stand much of a chance.
How much exercise?

You should workout before your last meal of the day. The last things you eat should should be vegetables and protein. How much weight do you want to lose?
If you wish to drop hundreds of pounds, then you will need to be VERY strict with your diet. You should follow your plan religiously 90% of the time. You can get away with SLIGHT deviations 10% of the time, but try to avoid this as well.
If you only need to shed 10 pounds then you can use the 80/20 rule.
If your goal is to lose hundreds of pounds then you are going to want to follow a very strict diet plan. 90% of the time you should follow your diet, and 10% of the time you may slightly stray from your diet. Someone that wants to lose 10 pounds on the other hand can practice the 80 to 20 rule. Where 80% of the time healthy eating is practiced and 20% of the time they can splurge a little. Someone that exercises is also a lot more likely to lose weight fast so they don’t have to focus entirely on dieting.
Figure out what works for you!
Your first couple of weeks should be trying your best to lose a few pounds. Try and figure out if working out and exercising helps, or if simply dieting alone is enough. A weight loss meal plan is necessary to lose weight. You cannot hope to exercise alone and never diet.
