(Newswire.net — December 15, 2013) Denver, Colorado — Howard Ludnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald said as much during his keynote address at the Rocky Mountain Commercial Real Estate Expo on Nov 14th, and Roberta Hutchings, Real Estate Broker & Owner of CO MainStreet Properties, wholeheartedly agrees. “This is a great thing that is happening in Denver’s real estate market, and the investment banks are starting to catch on.”

Investment banks are in the process of leaving “mega markets” such as the New York and Chicago areas in search of higher yields, and Denver’s real estate market is one such area that is being targeted for heavy investment. Hutchings sees this market momentum as highly beneficial for buyers and sellers alike “This influx of investment is a good thing whether you are buying or selling, and will have a big impact on home values for the long term.”

According to the Metrolist statistics for the last month, home sales declined from a high in September, but were still markedly higher than October of last year. A total of 4,730 homes were sold in September compared to 4,628 in October.  A modest month-to-month decline of 2 percent is small compared to the 13 percent annual increase from October of 2012. Home prices also dipped – $303,836  in October compared to $304,958 in September – giving buyers a little more incentive to buy in the coming months. Analysts found these numbers encouraging, beating expectations of an Autumn slowdown and posting remarkable numbers.

Sheila Surber – Real Estate Broker & Owner of CO MainStreet Properties, is very encouraged by the Metrolist statistics and agrees with the assertion that the Denver market is on the cusp of a potential market surge. “When there is this much liquidity in the market and such a high degree of interest in real estate it is a great time to enter the market. The market will be at its coolest over the holidays, but as the new year approaches we are going to see all these market indicators start big movement in home prices and sales.”

MainStreet Properties is co-owned by Hutchings and Surber, who are top real estate professionals in the Denver area who keep their fingers on the pulse of the local market.
