(Newswire.net — December 23, 2013) Westport, CT — Christmas arrived a little early this year for local chiropractor Brian McKay who was recognized with Connecticut’s Best Chiropractor Award 2013. When reached by phone he was surprised and had no idea he was even in contention for the award.
McKay went on to say that he at first thought it was a practical joke being played on him. The recognition was from a peer related survey that he knew nothing about.”I am glad that my colleagues think so highly of me, I want to know who to thank for the honor”,said McKay.
McKay was born in the beautiful Bronx as he likes to say. Prior to chiropractic school he worked on Wall Street for 6 years for various firms. He decided to becaome a chiropractor after he injured his own low back after injuring his ankle. “My gait was messed up after I sprained my ankle. The sprained ankle resulted in uneven wear and tear in my pelvis which affected my lower back. Sitting all day made it worse. I gained weight because I was unable to run. The chiropractor I saw helped me big time. Shortly thereafter I decided that I would rather be a chiropractor then ride the train every day”.
McKay has been practicing chiropractic in Darien, CT for over 22 years. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport , Iowa graduating on 1989. He opened his first office in July 1991. When not working he can usually be found with one of his children or at the Darien Y.M.C.A. exercising.
McKay’s plan for the future after educating his brood includes teaching chiropractic back in Davenport,Iowa. That will have to wait several years until the kids are out of college. He plans on teaching chiropractic technique and business practice. He appears to mantain his enthusiasm in the face of Obama Care. You can reach him at www.chirorpactordarien.com
