In keeping with the values and aims of National Preschool Fitness Day – to encourage daily physical activity and healthy habits for all children during the preschool years – CHALK Preschools, both online and in the classroom, are focusing on physical and mental fitness in January 2014.
CHALK Preschool Online offers over 8,000 preschool lessons for ages 2 – 5 based on the successful curriculum that’s been used in the brick-and-mortar preschools since 2005. This innovative online program incorporates healthy activity and physical fitness as an integral part of the curriculum.
The lessons online encourage preschoolers to try recipes for healthy snacks and many of the art, math and science lessons include music, song and movement. There is no charge to register for the online preschool – it’s freely available to any school, teacher or family that would like to take advantage of the CHALK experience.
CHALK Preschools in Chicago and Los Angeles have partnered with My Gym Enterprises to create a fitness-conscious learning environment program for children 24 months through 5 years of age. The My Gym/CHALK program features a rounded wellness curriculum that includes nutrition, hygiene for youngsters and the development of healthful lifestyle habits. The program starts in January 2014 at all five of the CHALK preschools: Westwood and Venice, California; and Lakeview, Clybourn Corridor and Lakeshore East, Chicago.
