Chef Scott Tucker is proud to announce his latest project, Cooking with Fire, a cookbook focused on healthy, fire-cooked meals. The 142 page cookbook is expected to hit bookstores and online retailers in the spring.

The book will focus on meals that are easy to make. Each meal will contain no more than five ingredients, and will be cooked over some type of flame – from outdoor fire pits, to wood burning ovens. The cookbook will be an easy to use home guide for cooking with fire, ideal for BBQ’s, holidays, and chefs who are hoping to spice up the cooking experience. Tucker’s work will feature dozens of colorful photos of ingredients, finished meals, and of his adventures with fire.

“Of course, each recipe will also have a set of conventional cooking instructions,” says Chef Tucker. “I’m not trying to make a book that is only for the adventurous cooks out there. I want everybody to be able to use these recipes.”

The work took more than two years to complete. During that time Tucker visited many countries where cooking is done primarily outdoors, over open flames.

“Some of the best meals I’ve ever had were not prepared in a fancy kitchen,” said Tucker. “And I want to bring those tastes to the home chef. Even if you can’t prepare a fire pit every time you want to cook these delicious dishes, you’ll be able to use the alternate version of the recipe to at least get a taste of these non-traditional meals.”

The work will be published this spring and the release will coincide with the premier of Tucker’s video web show of the same name. The show will give viewers an up close look at how the master chef collected his fire-fueled recipes, as well as show the often-comical trouble Tucker and his crew encountered along the way.
