The www.ColoradoNursingClass.com web site is a project created to provide information on careers and potential education choices in the medical care field across the state of Colorado.
The site’s principal editor Teri Anderson explained that the most widely used area of the site was easily the college exploration element that makes it possible for visitors to view schools and formal education solutions centered around wherever they are located or by where they wish to go to school.
“The main thrust of the site is to help get interested nursing candidates started in their new career choice,” said Anderson, “And our site can do that by helping them explore the different schools and education options in their town.”
“Most people have a pretty good idea of what the nursing profession is,” suggested Anderson, “That’s because the main work that nurses do, that is, the caring for patients, is fairly visible to the public, but there is more that goes on behind the scenes that not all prospective students are aware of. Plus, some students forget to take into consideration three things — the emotional impact of working with patients on a daily basis, the physical toll of constantly working on your feet for most of the work shift, and the possibility of constantly working night shifts and weekends. The health care field is not hard to get into, but there is a significant turnover with first-year workers.”
“If someone has an interest in the healthcare field, I think they should at least take some time and look into it,” continued Anderson, “And maybe they will determine that they aren’t necessarily cut out to be a nurse, but they are more interested in working in healthcare technology or administration. There are plenty of jobs to go around.”
Anderson stated that the website is completely free to operate for visitors. There are no fees and no sign up is required.
