(Newswire.net — May 12, 2014) — Championship driver Jeffrey Segal was recently announced as an addition to the Level 5 Motorsports driver line-up lead by Scott Tucker. Jeffrey Segal comes to the team after achieving numerous professional racing victories. Segal won his first series in 2007 when he became the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge GS class champion. Following his 2007 championship season, Segal went on to become class champion in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sport Car Series GT class in 2010 and 2012.
In addition to Jeffrey Segal’s championship experience, he will be able to contribute expert experience with Ferraris to Scott Tucker and the Level 5 Motorsports team. Segal has been closely involved in the Ferrari GTD program for several years, helping to develop the model in GRAND-AM.
Jeffrey Segal commented on his experience with Ferraris and how he expects that experience to influence his career with Level 5 Motorsports and Scott Tucker.
“Level 5′s commitment to the Ferrari program in GTD allows me to bring a lot of hands-on experience to help jump-start their effort, given my recent involvement with the racing and development of that model in GRAND-AM,” Segal said. “Since Ferrari debuted that project for the 2012 season, we’ve done an incredible amount of development and evolution with the car, which has produced two consecutive championships in only the first two seasons of the project. I have been a part of this entire process with the car, so, hopefully, I can help Level 5 bypass some of the learning curve, and extract the best performance from their new cars from the start of this season.”
In the 2013 season, Jeffrey Segal placed sixth overall in the 2013 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series GT class, and lead his team to a fourth-place finish.
The addition of Jeffrey Segal to Level 5 Motorsports increases the odds for all parties involved in the quest for more championship wins.
“I’m really looking forward to this year because I’ve basically seen Level 5 grow from nothing, when it was formed, up to what it is now, which is an internationally renowned championship-winning team,” Segal said. “Having seen that progression, that evolution, the chance to join a group of people like this with the experience that they have and a brand as prestigious and storied as Ferrari is a tremendous opportunity. I can’t see any reason not to be very enthusiastic about our prospects for 2014.”
Level 5 Motorsports will be fielding two Ferrar 458 Italia GT3s in the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
