(Newswire.net — May 21, 2014)  — Toronto, ON. — How to do SEO for Websites in the era of Panda 4.0. Although the newest Panda algorithm update by Google is called Panda 4.0, there have actually been over 24 updates to this little gem since its inception in February 2011.

Panda is based as an onsite algorithm change that focuses on quality of content. Before Panda many website owners and promoters were creating content that had all the right signals in it to catch Googles attention, and therefore rank it, but the actual content was garbage; just a false front to attract visitors to see ads, or bait and switch them to a sales page.

Google, as the leader in search engine technology, wanted to make sure that the search results they were serving up were the most relevant and beneficial to you. With that in mind they created changes to their algorithm with the goal to eliminate duplicate content, thin content, high ad content and keyword stuffed content from the top of the search engine. Panda cries “relevant well thought out content will reach the top of the search engines.”

Matt Cutts head of webspam at Google made refernce to the Panda update by saying “Content that is general, non-specific, and not substantially different from what is already out there should not be expected to rank well: ” Webmasters are now challenged to create content that is unique and engaging to their target audience. This take on content creation will also help greatly with sites that would like to benefit from the easy and powerful sharing ability of social media.

Up until Panda the saying in the SEO world was “Content is King” for ranking a website, now that should read “Original, Quality Content is King”.

Here are a few ways to provide damage control to your site and promote your rankings in the search engines:

 – Remove duplicate content on your site (this includes meta descriptions) and replace it with original, quality content.

 – Re-write, replace or remove thin, keyword stuffed or fluffy content from your website.

 – Limit the ad space on your site to ensure it does not affect the readability of your page.

 – Make sure that your page layout is structured in an easy to follow flow so visitors can find the content they are looking for easily.

 – Categorize your site so that the user can find related topics of interest and extend their on site time.

 – Fix all broken links!!! Here is a free online resource: http://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/

 – Interlink your internal pages when appropriate to aid in descriptions and explanations (think Wikepedia)

 – Integrate your site with social media so that your unique quality content can be shared easily.

Imagine what it is that your ideal prospect is looking to achieve by making their search, and then answer that question as thoroughly as poosible in a way that is easily consumed. Not only will this type of content rank you in the search engines, but it will also be shared via social media increasing your reach.

Creating truly helpful quality content will potray you as a trusted resource in your marketplace instead of a peddler. A trusted resource will be respected, shared and read, where a peddlar usually gets the door slammed on them.
