(Newswire.net — June 20, 2014) New York, New York — pianoSonoma is a small chamber music festival that brings together Juilliard faculty members, Artists in Residence, and adult musicians of all backgrounds, who will be involved in workshop-style lessons, rehearsals and concerts at Weill Hall. This year’s festival concerts will be held on July 27 and August 3 on Sundays at 3:00 p.m. The musical talents of these incredible artists will be featured in a variety of styles, not just the traditional classic fare.

The events will feature a total of 15 Yamaha pianos and nine conservatory artists who will amaze audiences at the scheduled concerts. Programs will feature cellist Julian Schwarz, pianist David Aladashvili, the Mendelssohn Trio, Franck Violin Sonata, and Ravel Tzigane. Concert goers will also enjoy the more recent repertoire, including pieces by New York-based composer Thomas Cabaniss and pianoSonoma’s first Composer-in-Residence Paul Frucht. Rounding out the program are Russian-American violinist Yevgeny Kutik and crossover artists Charles Yang on the violin and Peter Dugan on the piano.
