Mayor Buckhorn Reveals Tampa Goals

(Newswire.net — July 17, 2014) Tampa, FL —

After 2008, Tampa was considered the leading indicator for real estate “over inflated pricing” in the United States.  A stigma that lived for quite awhile as the entire economy sputtered and struggled to dig itself out of the 21st century’s depression.  Bob Buckhorn defied the odds of running a stiff and uphill battle campaign against the Tampa “fixture” Dick Greco , who is a political icon in this town.

His platform to win?  Buckhorn loves the challenge, any challenge that defies the odds of probability but even more so, he embraces tasks that improve the lots of his constituents regardless of the level of difficulty.  One thing that rang loud and clear is that he won’t give up if you are looking to wear him down.

Whether the issue is mass transit, urban sprawl, or employment creation, Buckhorn has an answer with a well thought out game plan.  He walks the streets and drives the highways in order to feel the pulse of the city’s identity and DNA.  A small town in Florida is not what he sees Tampa’s lot as, but rather a major urban city that has carved its name in the list of top destination cities in the world.  Great beaches are no longer the only asset that Tampa can be proud of but now there is a ground swell of momentum of intelligent, hardworking entrepreneurs and leaders that are joining forces to defy the naysayer odds.

Buckhorn just arrived on the flight back from his 36 hour stay in LA where he talked amongst America’s city leaders about Tampa’s story and where it’s headed.  It was “infectious”, needless to say as other mayors stood up and took notice of the evolutionary change.  “It’s about the people and the investment that they are making here…” Buckhorn emphatically states.  Without that commitment, such a dramatic turnaround is not possible.

Bob Buckhorn is charming as a Cheshire cat.  His smile is indeed infectious as well as his energy is worn on his shirtsleeve wherever he travels.  Most importantly, it is obvious that he is dedicated and cares and speaks frequently of his “why” which relates to the difference that he wants to make in his promise to his two young daughters of age 8 and 13. The “difference” that he made in the place where they have made their roots to live is the legacy that he wants them to have.

Such an undertaking is astounding however in describing the process, it is brick by brick with the mammoth blueprint to follow.  In discussing expansion and growth, he is mindful of estuary and environmental factors alongside economic initiatives, as was evidenced in his description of the massive cruise ships that want access to Tampa’s Channelside port.  “Lowering the water or converting the Sky Bridge into a drawbridge” are two of the options that were looked at but comically dismissed.  Some decisions for growth just do not make sense.

Stay tuned to the developments in Tampa as Buckhorn’s quest for Tampa’s place on the world map, has just begun.  For more interesting articles like this visit http://needseo.com or call (866) 907-2978.
