(Newswire.net — July 22, 2014)  —  If you live in a hot and humid part of the world, chances are you are running an air-conditioning system to keep your home or office cool. This will be costing you a lot of money and increasing your carbon footprint dramatically. Air-con, while certainly necessary, is not cheap and it goes without saying that the hotter the local temperatures, the more expensive it is to run.

Living through one of the toughest economic crisis of modern times means that most people cannot afford to waste money. Also, with the looming threat of man-made global warming coming ever closer, it is in everyones interest – and everyones duty – to try and reduce the amount of carbon emissions we are each personally responsible for.

It is becoming more well-known that ceiling fans can actually help reduce the high cost of running air conditioning to cool your home or workspace. Hampton Bay ceiling fans run on a very small motor, which is very inexpensive to run, whereas air-con uses a large refrigeration unit, which is considerably more costly to run.

By running your ceiling fan at the same time as running the air-con unit, the fan will automatically circulate all the cool air, allowing the air conditioning to be much more effective at cooling the ambient temperature.

When the fan is running alongside the air conditioning unit, you can turn the thermostat of the air-con up and still maintain the same room temp due to the increased effectiveness created by the fan. When the stat is turned up, the unit doesn’t have to work as hard, which again means you use less electricity and create less carbon emissions, plus you save yourself a small fortune and freshen up your home into the bargain.

This is a very simple, very powerful way to reduce the amount of energy and money you actually spend on cooling your home and office, whilst still doing your bit to reduce your carbon footprint and help the environment. Surely that can only be a good thing?
