(Newswire.net — July 31, 2014) Atlanta, Georgia — “Spice it up” is the action phrase for this year’s Fall 2014 designer jewelry collections. Watching the fashion runway shows and walking through stores, the traditional colors of burnt orange, aubergine, hunter green and wine are no longer standing alone. This year colors with pizazz are mixed with the customary somber hues of autumn to create an updated expression. It’s a different blend and a welcomed one for most. It’s indicative of the creativity of designers everywhere looking to give designer jewelry and accessories a boost.
Although sales have been less than usual in the jewelry industry, due to the high cost of silver and gold, those retailers who are buying are looking for something to give their jewelry cases some zest and zing for the Fall 2014 designer season. Natural and luminous colored gemstones placed in designer jewelry coordinating with the newest fashion color trends is just the way to liven it up.
The rich orange hue of Madeira citrine is a good coordinating accent for teal fashion as well as a natural compliment to purple colored clothing styles. Teal topaz is an intense color and offers an opulent feeling when mixed with the lilac of amethyst. There are a few low-priced opaque stones that can give an expensive feel to any outfit. Chrysocolla is one mined from many countries. It exhibits a green and blue mix with a black matix throughout giving it a very dimensional look and feel. Large pieces in jewelry make a great fashion statement.
There is a surprise neutral and a few pastels thrown into the fall mix. A dove gray color similar to labradorite and rainbow moonstone in the gem world can be backdrops for many of the violet, pink and teal colors both in fashion and designer jewelry. Both stones are cabochons and inexpensive and look good when paired with clear faceted gemstones such as blue or teal topaz, amethyst and garnet. Rhodocrosite, a medium pink stone from Argentina harmonizes well with dove gray for a softer autumn look. Put it with deeper violet colors to give a more contrasting feel for a distinctive appearance.
The Barbara Garwood jewelry line uses all of these gemstones and color combinations as well as many others. They are ready for the Fall 2014 Designer Jewelry show and can be seen and purchased at the upcoming SJTA Show at booth #28 in Atlanta, Georgia from August 9 – 11 at the Cobb Galleria Center. This is a show open to the trade only.
